Zara Coat | Monki Jumper | Monki Wide Leg Trousers | Adidas Stan Smith Trainers | Alexander Wang Rocco Bag

So this was my first attempt at shooting by myself. I bought a Canon Remote a few weeks and haven't really had a chance to experiment, so as I had a couple of days off this week, I thought I'd make some time to give it a go.

Living by myself and working full time can make it quite difficult to shoot outfits. Usually I'll rope Hainsley in on the weekend to help me out but this, my favourite spot to shoot, isn't always available as it's actually the car park outside my flat and come the weekend, there's always a car parked right in front of this wall. As mentioned I booked a couple of days off work this week as I've had events the last two weekends and thought I would take the opportunity of a quiet car park to have a play around and see if I could actually shoot solo.

To be honest I'm not over the moon with the result but it's a first attempt and I'd say I'm quite happy. Due to the lens I use - the Canon 40mm - I'm unable to get full body shots as the remote infra-red doesn't read that far away, but it's good to know that if worst comes to worst, I can shoot by myself if I need to.

Onto the outfit. Of course I've been wearing this coat non-stop since I bought it. I love the relaxed but structured fit and the colour is great for transitioning into spring. I bought these Monki culottes a while ago and have hardly worn them as it's been so cold. Culottes are so comfortable but look really put together so I'm definitely going to be reaching for these more regularly as the weather (hopefully) warms up. The neckline of this Monki jumper has to be one of my favourites, not quite a full turtle neck or a roll neck, but just enough to create some structure. Stan Smiths are pretty much uniform now right and I use this Alexander Wang Rocco on a daily basis. I was lucky enough to find this on The Outnet about a year ago and if you've been umming and ahhing about them, I'd defo say do it. It's small enough not to look too intrusive next to your outfit but big enough to fit all your essentials, basically the perfect everyday handbag.
