Makeup Eyeshadows Top to Bottom (L to R): Beaches & Cream | Peach Smoothie | Chickadee | Goddess | Cocoa Bear
Like most of us into the old beauty internet scene, it doesn't take much for me to give in to any sort of hype surrounding a must have product. But it took me a while to come around to these shadows developed by Youtuber Marlena aka Makeup Geek. I think it's because, any purely 'american' based product is always abit iffy isn't it? Is shipping a rip off, will I get stung at customs?
But having been a huge fan of Jaclyn Hill and Nicole Guerriero for the longest time who pretty much always use Makeup Geek shadows, I just felt like I couldn't resist a day longer. So one night I went ahead and scoped out the website, I couldn't believe it when I found out the shadows were only $5.99 and shipping was £5 to the UK!!! Can you actually believe it? So I just thought fuck it, I really wana try these shadows, what's stopping me now? So after a very indecisive few minutes/hours I settled on these five, Beaches and Cream, a really smooth all over lid colour, Peach Smoothie, a must have as I'd seen Jaclyn Hill waxing lyrical about this in almost every tutorial, Chickadee, for that cracked out, heroin chic summer vibe, Goddess, coz I definitely need another shimmery copper, and lastly, my surprise fav, Cocoa Bear. What can I say about Cocoa Bear, apart from the fact it's named after Marlena's nickname for her boo boo (so cute) it's the most beautiful rich, red, brown, similar to MAC Brown Script, and I am a sucker for a red based shadow as I have green eyes and they are bestest friends.
Apart form the price the best thing about the Makeup Geek eyeshadows is the quality, there's basically no difference between them and MAC. You really would never know, so if you've been spending all your spare cash on trying to build up the perfect MAC palette, put you;re money away - get yourself on Makeup Geek and go cray cray. You can also buy the infamous and amazing Z Palettes on site too that will house your new shadow family beautifully.
I know y'all probs have one last question, what about customs? Well my charges were £11 which I didn't mind paying at all as the shipping was sooooo cheap and they came pretty fast.
Have I convinced you yet? I definitely plan to make another cheeky order very soon!
